Boards and Commissions

The Mooresville Park Board is a 7-member board made of 1 member appointed by the Mooresville Public Library annually, one from the Mooresville School Corporation annually, one from the Morgan County Circuit Court Judge for 4 years, and four by the Town Council President for 4-years.

The Mooresville Park Board meets once monthly on the second Monday of the month at the Park Office.

The Mooresville Police Board of Commissioners consists of three Mooresville citizens who serve as the governing body for the Mooresville Police Department. All three commissioners are appointed by the Mooresville Town Council.

The Police Commission meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month @ the Police Department,

The Redevelopment Commission is a five-member body, with three members appointed by the Town Council President as Executive Appointments and two by the Town Council. The appointments are made annually and serve until other appointments are made.

The Redevelopment Commission meets monthly on the 1st Thursday of the month at the Government Center.

The Mooresville Plan Commission is a 7-member commission apprised of the following: three town Employees and or elected officials appointed by the Town Council; four citizen members, not elected or serving on any other boards, own property in the Town of Mooresville, with no more than two members of the same political affiliation.

The Mooresville Plan Commission meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month, as needed, at the Government Center.

The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals is a 5-member board mad up of two Plan Commission members, one appointed by the Town Council and one by the Plan Commission; 3 citizen members, one appointed by the Town Council President and two by the Town Council. Terms are 4-years after an initial 3-year term. Members may not be elected officials; three must be Mooresville residents, and of the 3 citizen members, no more than two can be of the same political affiliation.

The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month, as needed, at the Government Center.
