Responsible for handling town finances, specifically receiving and managing all town funds and disbursing these funds as directed by the town’s legislative body.
Prepare budget estimates for miscellaneous revenue and financial statements for the legislative body.
Handles Insurance and personnel questions.
Maintaining Public Records.
Make investment decisions with the town’s money.
Manage billing and collection of stormwater and sewer utility.
Perform specific tasks in negotiating and selling bonds and keep a register of all town bonds and an account of outstanding bonds or other obligations.
Administer oaths and maintain custody of the town seal.
Setting payment procedures for creditors, officers, and employees.
The clerk-treasurer is an ex officio member for casting the deciding vote to break a tie.
Serves as the secretary and record keeper of council proceedings, including recording all meetings, and preserves all papers relating to its business.
