Fire Department

The Mooresville Fire Department is committed to providing exceptional emergency response to fires, medical calls, environmental emergencies, auto accidents, hazmat situations, and technical rescue emergencies. The fire department serves about 11,000 citizens within a 6 square mile area, not including the many thousands which travel through town each day, including heavy traffic areas of State Road 67 and State Road 144. The fire department responds to an average of 1,800 emergency calls per year. An average of calls are 70% EMS and 30% Fire annually.

We are a combination department, which means we have full time and part time personnel, that serve the residents of Mooresville and provided mutual aid for the surroundings areas.  Each day the department is staffed with up to 6 firefighters, EMT’s, or Paramedics, trained in the latest fire and EMS skills ready to respond to any and all calls for help.

Urgent needs for assistance that are NOT an emergency- Dial 911

At times members of our community need immediate help, but it may not be an emergency.   Those that may need help getting up, a smoke detector, CO detector or other alarm that is chirping or making noise or an open burning complaint are all examples. In the event you need some immediate assistance from us, dial 911. When the dispatcher answers the phone, simply tell them it’s not an emergency, but you need help. The dispatcher will send someone to assist you. There will be NO lights or siren. We are happy to help when you need us.

Non Urgent issues or information

If you need assistance or information that is not urgent; call us at 317-831-5354 or email us.  If you leave us a message, we will respond to your request as soon as we are available.
